Tisha (Glosette) Rodriguez - Class of 1990 Tisha earned four varsity letters in Softball, three varsity letters in Volleyball, and two varsity letters in Basketball. She was named Second Team All-State and First Team All-District in Softball during her senior year. Tisha was a member of the 1989 Regional Runners-up in Softball. She currently holds the school record for runs scored in a career with 116 and ranks third on the all-time list with a career batting average of .456. Tisha had 68 career stolen bases which ranks her second. She is tied for fifth place on the all-time list with 70 RBI’s. In Volleyball, Tisha earned All-Ohio honorable mention during her senior year. She earned All- MAC honors during her junior and senior seasons in Volleyball. Tisha was a member of the 1989 Regional Runners-up in Volleyball. Tisha attended the University of Findlay where she lettered in Volleyball for four years and Softball for four years. Tisha currently ranks second on Findlay’s all-time list for stolen bases in a season and stolen bases in a career. In Volleyball, she currently ranks seventh on their all-time assists list and seventh for career service aces. |
Tony Osborn - Class of 1989 Tony earned three varsity letters in Football, three varsity letters in Baseball, and two varsity letters in Basketball. He was named Second Team All-State in Football his senior year. Tony earned First Team All-MAC in Football during his senior season and Honorable Mention All-MAC during his junior season. In Basketball, he was named to the All-Northwest Ohio Honorable Mention list during his senior year. Tony earned All-MAC First Team in Basketball during his junior and senior seasons. He was a District 8 All Star during his senior year in basketball. In Baseball, Tony was named First Team All-MAC during his junior and senior seasons. Tony was a member of the 1987 State Championship Baseball Team. He received the Don Black Scholarship during his senior year. Tony played Baseball at the University of Dayton where he lettered for three years. |
Beverly (Schumm) Barkley - Class of 1980 Beverly lettered in Track all four years of high school. She was the State Champion in Shot Put in 1978 and 1980. Beverly was Runner-up in Shot Put in 1977 and 1979. She also qualified for the state meet in Discus her senior year. Beverly currently holds the school record in Shot Put with a throw of 41’ 1 1/2”. In 1980, Beverly scored 212 individual points for the Panthers. Beverly currently holds the Junior High record for discus (95’ 11 ½”) and Shot Put (37’ 3”). She was the Midwest Athletic Conference Champion in Shot Put during her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. Beverly was District Champion in Shot Put during her Sophomore and Junior year and was District Runner-Up her Senior year. She was Mercer County Champion in Shot Put and Discus during her Junior and Senior seasons. |
JOY HUNZIKER
Joy earned four varsity letters in cross country, four in track, and three in basketball. Joy earned All-MAC honors in cross country all four years of high school. She won the MAC Cross Country meet during both her junior and senior year. Joy also won the District Cross Country meet in 1984. She qualified for the Regional Cross Country meet three out of four years. In Basketball, Joy earned All-MAC honors during her junior and senior year. Joy scored 1,061 points in her career. She is the first woman to ever score over 1,000 points in her career at Parkway High School. Joy was a member of the 1985-86 Regional Runners-up in Girls Basketball. Joy scored in double figures 58 out of 68 games in her career. During her senior season Joy averaged 19.7 points per game, which was second best in Mercer County. She won the MAC in the 1600 and 3200 meter run in girls track. Joy went to State in the 3200 meter run. |
TED BOLLENBACHER
Ted earned four varsity letters in Baseball, three in Football and two in Basketball at Parkway High School. He was named Parkway’s Most Valuable Player in Baseball in 1970 and 1971. Ted threw four no hitters in league play. In 1970, Ted averaged an amazing 2.3 strikeouts per inning pitched. He was one of only fifty-eight players in Ohio to be named All-State in Baseball during the 1971 season. Ted was named to the Mercer County All-Star Team in 1968, 1969, 1970, and 1971. He was the first person ever selected to the All-Star Team all four years of high school. Ted was named Most Valuable Player in Basketball at Parkway during his senior year. He was also selected to the All Mercer County Team his senior year. After graduation, Ted attended Rangely College where he earned two varsity letters in Baseball and won the Most Valuable Player award in 1973. |
TODD HENKLE
Todd Henkle was the Varsity Volleyball Coach at Parkway High School from 1989-1993, 1995 to 2005. His coaching record over 16 years was 257-152. He won 3 Midwest Athletic Conference Championships and was MAC Coach of the Year in 1989, 1991, and 1992. Todd's teams won 13 Sectional Championships, 9 District Championships, and 3 Regional Championships. He coached the Panthers to the Division III State Championships in 1996 and 1997. The Panthers were also Division III State Runners-up in 2005. Todd had 8 players earn All-Ohio Honors. He was named to the Ohio High School Coaches Association Achievement Award in '89, '92, '95,'97, '04. Todd coached the State All-Star Match in '95. He also received the OHSAA "Respect the Game Award" in '07. He was selected to coach the District 8 All-Star team in '91, '95, '98, '04. Todd graduated from Parkway High School in 1981 where he earned 8 varsity letters in football, baseball, and basketball. |
PARKWAY HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Parkway Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize individuals who have distinguished themselves in the field of athletics, by virtue of athletic performance on athletic teams, or by meritorious service.
CRITERIA
1. A nominee will be considered for induction into the Parkway Athletic Hall of Fame, ten years after their class graduation and/or one year after completion of employment with Parkway Local Schools.
2. Nominees must have demonstrated good citizenship and meritorious service to Parkway Schools.
3. The nominee must have excelled in the field of athletics as a performer, coach, administrator, or other worthy contributions.
SELECTION COMMITTEE
1. The committee (11 members) shall consist of the Athletic Director, High School Principal, one board member, three head coaches, one current high school teacher, three community members, and one member of the Parkway Athletic Boosters.
2. The selection committee shall be chaired by the Athletic Director.
SELECTION PROCESS
1. Nominations for Hall of Fame consideration shall be in writing and on the official nomination form, which is available in the Parkway Athletic Office upon request
and on the Parkway Local Schools website. Nominations may be originated by any member of the Parkway community, Parkway alumni, family members or interested persons.
2. All nominations should be sent to the Parkway Athletic Director, 400 Buckeye St., Rockford, Ohio 45882.
3. Once nominated the candidate will remain under consideration for ten years.
4. Nominations are due by September 30th each year.
5. The first year seven nominees will be inducted. Each year after no more than three nominees will be inducted.
6. The Athletic Director will review nominations and compile accurate information which will be distributed to the selection committee prior to meeting in November.
7. The Selection Committee will meet in November to vote on inductees into the Parkway Hall of Fame.
8. All eleven members of the Selection Committee must be present at the November meeting.
9. The selection committee will meet in November and individually arrange nominees’ names in order of preference. The top three (except for the initial year which will be seven) will be placed on a second ballot and voted on individually. A 2/3 approval of the selection committee is needed for acceptance into the Parkway Hall of Fame.
INDUCTION CEREMONIES
1. The time of induction into the Parkway Hall of Fame shall be during halftime of a home boys’ basketball game in January or February.
2. Each inductee will receive a plaque bearing his/her likeness as well as a written dialogue documenting his/her accomplishments. A duplicate plaque will be added to the existing Hall of Fame Plaques displayed at the High School.
3. The inscription shall read: “In recognition of outstanding athletic accomplishments, honor and service to Parkway Schools; the names and
likenesses of those so honored and forever enshrined in the Parkway Athletic Hall of Fame”.
4. The Athletic Director will handle all arrangements for the ceremony and banquet to be held after the game.
